A winter wedding at The Berkeley Church

There is something incredibly magical about a winter wedding, I am not sure if it is the festive decorations, the white fluffy snow or cuddling up under the mistletoe toe for the first kiss as newlyweds.  At BHC we are loving the trend of more and more brides choosing to say " I do" during the holiday season!

Monica’s wedding day morning was a hive of activity with her family home bustling with dogs, bridesmaids and festive cheer and I felt right at home, as the year before on exactly the same weekend I was styling the hair for her sister’s wedding in the same place! Monica's bridal style was modern with a touch of glam and after previewing a hairstyle choice of classic vintage waves she choose to go for a more natural hairstyle with elements of her everyday life! Sometimes less is more and there is no point trying to compete with such a show stopping gown!

The Berkeley church in downtown Toronto is perfect for a wedding any time of year though fill it with Christmas wreaths, pinecones, gingerbread houses and a cool palette of green you would swear you have been transported to a Christmas wonderland fit for the movies!

If you are into romantic first looks, candid captures, a whole lot of love and of course cute puppies, look no further then Monica and David’s winter nuptials!

A wedding at The Whistle bear golf club

There is so much to love about this romantic wedding at The Whistle bear golf club, Natalie's eye for detail and impeccable taste was evident through out the day. The morning started in the stunning Orchid suite at Langdon Hall an elegant retreat fit for a queen  surround by rose gardens and English ambience the light rain seemed only fitting in a place like this! Natalie's nearest and dearest had no problems filling up the gorgeous suite although it never seemed crowed, renowned for their cocktails this place knows how to treat a lady on her special day!

Decorated in crisp white details and hints of greenery Whistle bear provided the perfect backdrop to capture Natalie and Dylan's beautiful and seemingly effortless wedding day. With the dreamiest of lighting the entire celebration was picture perfect, I am in love with the overall look and I know you will be too!

A Spring Wedding at The Gladstone Hotel

As the 2017 bridal season comes to an end its nice to have a moment to reflect on our BHC brides we have had the pleasure of working with. and I am excited to  finally be  sharing our first real wedding with you from this season!

Our gorgeous bride Melanie said 'I do' on a rather chilli spring day in early May. With grey clouds looming and a predication of rain Melanie was not taking any chances her bridal party was adorned with the most adorable polkadot umbrellas as they took to the streets! From roof tops to graffiti walls and riding on street cars this adventures bride and groom did not let the weather rain on their parade. And with a wedding this gorgeous who wouldn't want a little rain which is rumoured to bring good luck and prosperity on their special day!

Romantic wedding at The Gladstone Hotel

The Gladstone Hotel has the honour of being Toronto's longest running hotel and by far the most unique. It is a melting pot of art, culture, food, wine and community where just about anything can happen on any given night. Last September it proved to be the perfect backdrop for Laura and Chris to say I do and if you haven't been to a wedding there I am sorry to say you are missing out!

Laura's wedding was filled with personal touches and authentic details from bright red shoes, flower crowns to embracing her own natural curls which seemed to only enhance the charm of the glorious setting.

Laura was referred to me after hearing I love working with natural curls and I was so excited to have the chance to create a hairstyle where a little bit of frizz or an imperfect curl was encouraged as lets face it thats the life of a naturally curly haired gal! For the wedding day hairstyle we enhance her naturals curls with a curling wand and keep the style simple and organic letting the flower crown have most of the glory.

Love in the leaves at The Kortright Conservation centre

There is nothing quite like saying I do among the changing leaves of fall and this past November our brides were blessed with beautiful sunny days and warm weather to do just that! Natalie and Jonathan's ceremony was set amongst the falling leaves of the Kortright Conservation Centre followed by an intimate reception at Artscape Wychward Barns, Toronto.

Natalie had requested an undone imperfect french twist for her wedding day hairstyle which is a look i just love to create! The undone hairstyle paired with her effortless and dreamy gown created the most beautiful and timeless bridal style.

English Garden Party Wedding at The Henley

From the moment our bride and groom viewed The Henley Room they new it would be the perfect spot to celebrate their nuptials. With a stunning Lakeside view, gorgeous out door patio and the perfect "old man" pub to please all of their British guests. The finer details of bunting draped from the ceilings, DIY Pimms cocktail station and a late night ice-cream truck ensured guests experienced the quaint vibe of an English garden party.

Jannah wanted her wedding day hairstyle to have elements that would reflect her vintage gown and complement her stunning head chain which she created herself after seeing a designer version at Kleinfiled's. We absolutely adored working with such a creative and talented bride to create the perfect hairstyle for her wedding day.

A Romantic Barn Wedding at Earth to Table Farm

It's easy to see why Caitlyn and Joshua choose Earth to table as the stunning backdrop for their August nuptials, featuring sustainable artisan fare in a restored barn from the 1800's every carefully crafted detail added an endless elegance to their wedding day.

Much like Caitlyn her wedding day morning had a relaxed vibe with the preparations taking place in the elegant powder room of her family home. Caitlyn wanted a timeless and romantic hairstyle for her wedding day with intricate detailing in the chignon. To ensure we were not limited by her hair length we incorporated the use of hair padding and hair extensions to achieve her gorgeous wedding day hairstyle.

Distillery District Toronto Wedding at Archeo

They say a picture can paint a thousand words and I would have to agree after seeing this trio of pictures from our carefree and fun loving bride! Emma was married on one of the sunniest Fridays in September at Archeo in the Distillery district in Toronto. Emma's wedding was an evening affair so she had the luxury of starting hair services at 10am and even had time to grab a last minute manicure before the beauty teams arrival. Emma's relaxed approach on the morning of her wedding had a calming effect on many of her bridal party members especially her Mom who was understandably nervous about walking her only daughter down the aisle. Emma's hair length was on the shorter side around the collar bone and naturally fine. At the hair trial consultation, it was clear that Emma would require some additional length and volume to achieve the textured low bun she had hoped for! We often underestimate the length or volume of hair required to recreate the Pinterest pictures we dream of on our wedding day, however, dreams can often be realized with a little help from hair extensions. I always have a range of high-quality human hair extensions on hand for my brides to try at their hair trials with the option to rent them if they love the results like our bride Emma did.
