A Modern wedding at The Burroughes

It was inevitable  that Carolina's show stopping gown was going to spend a lot of time in the spot light on her wedding day created by local talent Catherine Langlois  and inspired by an Oscar de la Renta design it was worthy of the red carpet!

Not wanting to compete with her dress, we keep Carolina's bridal hairstyle elegant with a modern take on the French twist complementing the silhouette of her dress and all over bridal style. Carolina seamlessly paired her chic style and modern details with the elegant charm of The Burroughes building for their reception.

Carolina had a large bridal party and beauty team of four and rather then be confined to a small space she had the ingenious idea of renting out  her condo party room, for the morning's preparations. This gave everyone plenty of space and an abundance of natural light, which your beauty team will always thank you for! It also allowed other family members to drop by and say hello in a relaxed and fun environment. Even if you don't have your own condo with a party room ask around, I recently had a bride use a friends condo party room in Toronto, which also proved to be the perfect getting ready space for a larger bridal party!

See it all unfold through the lens of Lindsey Grey with this beautiful wedding also recently  featured on Event source.

A Spring Wedding at The Gladstone Hotel

As the 2017 bridal season comes to an end its nice to have a moment to reflect on our BHC brides we have had the pleasure of working with. and I am excited to  finally be  sharing our first real wedding with you from this season!

Our gorgeous bride Melanie said 'I do' on a rather chilli spring day in early May. With grey clouds looming and a predication of rain Melanie was not taking any chances her bridal party was adorned with the most adorable polkadot umbrellas as they took to the streets! From roof tops to graffiti walls and riding on street cars this adventures bride and groom did not let the weather rain on their parade. And with a wedding this gorgeous who wouldn't want a little rain which is rumoured to bring good luck and prosperity on their special day!

Olive Photography captured every moment of this wonderful celebration at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto.

Boho Elopement Inspiration

I have been impatiently waiting to share this dreamy collaboration filled with rose quartz crystals and boho accents since the moment it was shot back in April. Captured in one of my favourite locations in Toronto The Great Hall, with its impeccable natural lighting,  white walls and art deco accents this space is a blank canvas waiting to be transformed.  Working with a group of industry talents like this boho dreams were destined to be created.

The shoot had  many layers to get excited about beginning with an  intimate boudoir session with our bride-to-be wearing a gorgeous bespoke bridal robe and tussled waves it made me wonder why I didn't make time for getting ready pictures like this on my own wedding day!

I always like to have a plan in place for the hairstyle when working on a styled shoot however when  I arrived on set I was completely inspired by all the props from Turkish rugs to a floral anklet, and that was before I saw the head piece I would be working with! I am a big believer of less is often more when it comes to hair and  I wanted to add a layer to the hairstyle that connected the movement and structure of the hair piece to the hairstyle and the playfulness of both outfits.

Get lost in the prettiest shades of rose quartz captured by Lea and styled + planned by June Bloom events.

Intimate Wedding at The Gardiner Museum

The Shangri-La Hotel was the perfect setting to begin Ali's intimate wedding day preparations with her Mom and Sister on hand providing the perfect amount of love, support and giggles.  Ali and Marijan said I do at The Gardner Museum, a stunning minimalist space with floor-to-ceiling windows that has an abundance of natural light and is right in the heart of Toronto. It has the added bonus of allowing guests to explore the museum as well!

Ali wanted to create a hairstyle that was undone and imperfect adding texture to her beautiful, shinny though very straight locks. She also wanted the hairstyle to be low-key as to not compete with her stunning Haley Paige gown that was worthy of all the attention.

The talented Olive Photography captured the entire affair.
